Why We Built the AI Coach

Interviews can be daunting when you don’t know what’s coming. The AI Interview Coach gives you a safe space to practise, build confidence, and put the experience and skills you’ve gained on Springpod into action.

It’s a rehearsal room for the real thing — helping you turn your profile, badges, and experiences into strong answers, so you can tell the best version of your story so far

How the AI Coach Works

This is a virtual AI interviewer — it’s not a real person, and it won’t give you personal advice or tell you what to do.

What to expect:

  • You’ll answer role-specific questions that adapt to your responses to help you articulate how your skills and experience will be beneficial for that role.
  • You’ll practise speaking out loud and get coaching on structure and delivery.
  • You’ll see a Readiness Score to help track your progress over time.

Important to know:

  • This tool is for educational use only. It’s designed to help you practise and build confidence, not to act as a formal assessment.
  • Don’t use this for job applications, performance evaluations, or other high-stakes decisions.
  • Feedback is generated by AI and may not always be fully accurate or consistent.

Your Data & Privacy

  • Your answers are recorded to improve your experience — but they’re not used to train AI models.
  • The AI uses parts of your Springpod profile (e.g., completed experiences, skills, and interests) to personalise questions.
  • We share limited information with the AI system (your first name, completed experiences, and profile bio if added). No sensitive personal data is shared.
  • All data is stored securely and managed under Springpod’s policies, which ensure transparency, purpose-limited use, and compliance with regulations.

What the AI Coach Does

Helps you practise: realistic interview questions with natural follow-ups.
Gives you feedback: on clarity, structure, and delivery so you can improve.
Tracks your growth: see changes in your Readiness Score as you practise.

How you’re assessed

The coach focuses on three areas:

1. Work Experience Examples (Telling your story)
How well you articulate and apply your experience in your answers — including the quality, relevance, and depth of examples you share.

2. Employability Skills  Examples (Showing your skills)
How clearly you evidence career-readiness skills in context — including the quality, relevance, and applicability of the skills you reference.

3. Enthusiasm & Understanding (Owning the interview)
How well you show authentic enthusiasm and informed curiosity about the role and company in a way that feels personal to you.

We encourage users to reflect on their experiences with a qualified careers professional and seek further guidance if needed to support their interview preparation.

If Something Feels Wrong – Safety & Support

Your well-being matters. You have the option to end the experience at any time and if the system detects something concerning, such as harmful thoughts, illness, danger or abuse, then our system will prompt you to end the interview and signpost you to relevant helpful  resources.
